Garden of Heroes

On the north side of Messolonghi you will find the imposing Garden of Heroes. Walking along the stone-paved streets between palms and eucalyptus trees, you will come across the Tomb of the Fallen, the tomb of Markos Botsaris, the statue of Lord Byron and other monuments of great historical and artistic importance. The garden is a regional sculpture gallery that stretches over 12 acres and is full of monuments dedicated to the heroes of the Greek struggle for freedom.
