The Roman and Medieval Aqueducts of Patras
An outstanding example of engineering, the Roman Aqueduct of Patras was most probably built during the reign of Emperor Hadrian (early 2 nd century AD). The Aqueduct run for 7.5 km from the springs of Romanos to the Castle of Patras, and was in use until the late 18th century. Part of a more recent aqueduct, built in the early post byzantine period has been found to the north of the Roman one. Follow the route of the remaining parts in the archeological site of the Roman and Medieval Aqueducts of Patras and admire the arch that stands out over the centuries, until today.
